Tim still improving

21 November 2005

How good at his chosen sport can Tim Murphy become? Since returning from winning the selectors ten Tim has made two triple peels in three days. On Friday

while playing a social 14 point game against Margaret Sawers Tim peeled Margaret’s  ball Through hoops 4, 5, and 6 then pegged both Margaret’s and his own

ball out in one turn.

On Sunday playing Pam Owen in a handicap competition game Tim again completed a triple peel with his own balls and pegged out in just over an hour,

congratulations Tim Nowra club is extremely proud of you

Our meeting was held yesterday (Wed. 2 at 4.00pm) and we need to make sure you are aware of the following.

We are having a Xmas raffle selling tickets at $1 each.  Prize is a hamper made of goods donated by members and in some cases friends of members.  Please do

make a contribution as soon as possible.
Each member is to receive a booklet of 10 tickets to sell.  If you should need more, please contact Dorothy by email or on   4443 4494.  The prize will be

drawn at our Xmas luncheon. Please return money and any unsold tickets as soon as possible to Dorothy.  If leaving in clubhouse make certain to show whose

tickets they are, to avoid confusion, and if possible leave in care of a committee member.   If we do well with this raffle I venture to promise we may get

it back when we celebrate our new lawns.
That accomplishment is not a definite yet, but with some compromise does look closer despite the setback we’ve all suffered.

The Xmas luncheon and fun day is to be held Dec. 11 from around 10.00a.m.
There will be no charge made but we are all asked to contribute if attending.  Please RSVP by Nov. 30.  We are requesting that each member brings along an

item of food of an average serving.  Numbers will indicate quantities needed.  A list is left in clubhouse for replies.  For those not able to get to the

club in this time please let Dorothy know your intentions.  There is also a list of suggestion of foods.  Again for those members not usually around,

examples are:-  Usual type of nibblies, salads, sliced ham, BBQ chicken or other meat, Pavlova, cheesecake or fruit salad, biscuits and slices.
That should give an easy option to those who don’t cook as well as those who prefer to cook.  If attending but unable to get to club, please let Dorothy

know your choice, so quantities can be arranged and we don’t have too much of one thing and not enough of another.

You are all reminded we know have twilight sessions of play available.

Tim and Graeme were congratulated on their respective successes and will be attending the CNSW presentation on Nov 26 at Tempe.

Ellen Bethe and Campbell Holland are both recovering nicely from surgery, one on feet and other on knee. We look forward to seeing both in near future.

The lawn renovation is expected to commence in Dec.  You will be kept informed.

Our next general meeting will be Jan. 18 2006  (can you believe that!!)
Do hope to see as many as possible on Dec. 11.  Let’s make it our biggest and best social gathering yet.

Best wishes to all
Dorothy Barker (Secretary)
